riverling

guide a river home

a river pours from a cliff into a valley that has never existed before. you tap beside the water to choose its path, and everything it touches comes alive.

meadows bloom, forests deepen, villages light their lamps. water is the resource: every tile of river costs a drop, and lakes and springs give some back. at the valley's end are waterfalls. you choose where to descend, and the next valley is longer. the run ends when the water runs out, and the river rests where it stopped.

one rule

tap beside the water. that is the whole rule, and it takes about five seconds to learn. what takes longer is reading where the river should go.

a new river every day

one seeded valley, the same for everyone, with a leaderboard. a run takes three to eight minutes. there is an endless mode underneath it for the days that ask for more.

every run leaves something behind

light every village in a valley and it awakens, lanterns rising as the camera breathes out over the whole thing. then you descend, and find a longer one.
